Paintball FAQ

IS PAINTBALLING SAFE?
Yes, paintballing is very safe. Our staff are highly experienced and are very familiar with all the risks. They know what to focus on and your safety is their priority. We provide the highest standard safety and battle equipment.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK?
Preferably at least a week or two prior to your preferred day. We are a very popular paintball venue and often book up very quickly. Of course there is no problem booking much closer to – or even on the day. We will do our best to accommodate you.

IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE?
11 years and Older for paintball, there is no minimum ages for outdoor laser tag

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ARRIVE?
You will need to arrive 20 minutes prior to your allocated time. You sign in and are then required to fill in the necessary forms. You are then given a safety instruction session and outfitted with all your equipment. Your field referee will then escort you to your field and explain the game you will be playing – including all the rules.

Then it is GAME ON.

WHAT SHOULD WE BRING?
Loose and comfortable clothes. If you are going to wear our overalls and the weather looks fine then please remember that with all the running around you may get very hot – so wear appropriate clothing! Sports shoes are best. You may also choose to bring some light gloves – or purchase/hire them from the shop.

You will NOT be allowed on the field in jandals, jandals or bare feet.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE REQUIRED FOR A PAINTBALL GAME?
Typically we require a minimum of 8 participants (2 teams of 4) for a private game.  There is no minimum amount of players for a scheduled open “walk on game” (such as “Sunday Streetball” or “Weekend Warfare”

WHEN ARE YOU OPEN
We are open for weekends, all holidays and for bookings during the week.

Our first games kick off at 9am. You will be advised what time to arrive when you make your booking. The games can be played on through dusk during daylight savings which allows some groups to play up to 8pm or until it gets dark.

WHAT ABOUT VALUABLES?

Please leave all unneccesary valuables at home, or locked in your car, while we do look after smaller items behind our desk, we accept no responsibility for anything that is lost.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
Games proceed unless the rain is very heavy. Please bring a jacket or raincoat if the weather looks less than ideal. A spare change of clothes for afterwards is highly reccomended.

HOW CAN I PROMOTE MY DAY?
We are happy to provide posters and flyers to help you excite your fellow participants. Birthday party invites can be downloaded from our website.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO IN THE AREA?
This area of Auckland has the highest concentration of leisure activities in the region. Lock N Load offers great combo deals with two of Auckland’s finest attractions –Rocket Ropes (ww.rocketropes.co.nz) and Butterfly Creek (www.butterflycreek.co.nz). Both are within 400m of Lock N Load.

ARE WE INSURED?
Yes. Lock N Load has comprehensive Public Liability insurance

IS THERE FIRST AID AVAILABLE?
Yes. We have trained first aid persons on site and an emergency paramedic service is available just up the road at Auckland Airport. There is also a doctors surgery at the airport shopping centre

ARE TOILETS AVAILABLE?
Yes we pride ourselves on our hygiene facilities, providing flushing toilets (including disabled) as well as hot and cold running water.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR LARGE GROUPS?
Organisers bonuses are available depending on the size of the group, please phone in advance to confirm.

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL?
We do not have a liquor licence, for your own safety noone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be allowed to enter the field and play.
